Emails and Messaging

Will my email address change?
No. There will be no changes to email addresses, either for sending or receiving.

Will Office 365 work at off-campus locations or at home?
Yes. Office 365 is available to District users anywhere in the world.

What is the biggest message that can be sent or received using Office 365?
25 MB. Office 365 cannot send or receive any messages larger than that.

What if I need to share a file that is larger than 25 MB?
Contact the Technology Division through a HEAT ticket if you need to send files larger than 25 MB

Will my local PST files be affected?
If you currently use PST files (Outlook archive files) they will continue to work as before as they are stored on your local PC or Network Drive and not on Office 365.  With the significant increase in email storage space (50 GB) you can move your personal folders to your main Office 365 by just dragging and dropping them.

When will the features of Office 365 beyond email and calendar, like SharePoint and applications like Word and Excel, be made available?
Office Web Apps including Word, Excel and PowerPoint are available to you as soon as your email account is migrated to Office 365.  Other features such as SharePoint and Lync are in a testing phase and will be made available sometime in 2015, after the migration is complete.
